Baklava is considered the visiting card of the East and the most famous sweet. This treat is a puff pastry dessert. Turkey is considered the birthplace of this sweet. In the history of cooking, even the approximate date of the invention of the recipe for this sweetness is fixed – this is August 1453. It was then that the court chef, whose name, unfortunately, is unknown, presented this threat to the Turkish Sultan. This dish was prepared earlier, but for the first time, that chef managed to roll out the dough so thinly that it shone through and it was possible to read the text of the book through it. From Turkey, the baklava recipe has spread all over the world, however, each treat had its own “zest” corresponding to the culinary traditions of a country. Turks claim that baklava is especially beneficial for men, as a mixture of nuts in combination with honey helps to improve potency. But women should be careful with the treat, as it is high in calories and can harm the figure.
